Hamam

The history of the bath dates back to the Ancient Romans. Excavations in the city of Pompeii, which was buried under ashes after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, revealed the baths used by the Romans.

It is understood that these baths were used not only for cleaning but also for pleasure and entertainment. Since there was a class difference in the Romans, the entrance doors and bathing places of slaves and nobles were separated in the baths. Roman baths also had steam baths, cold and hot water pools. Baths are good bathing and cleansing places for body cleansing with hot water and soap, provided that they do not stay for a long time. Washing the sweating body by rubbing it with a cloth or sponge in the hammam facilitates blood circulation in the body and gives comfort to people.

Those who wash in the baths must follow the rules of etiquette. Staying in the baths too long, going from hot to cold, from cold to hot from time to time can also be harmful to the body. It is dangerous for people with health problems to bathe in very hot water.
